The objective of the exhibition
To highlight the lack of responsibility of primary producers and the other stakeholders over ecosystem services and resilience in agroecosystems and “Ellanga” ecosystems in the Dry Zone landscape in Sri Lanka.
Ministries of Environment and wildlife resources, Mahaweli, agriculture, irrigation, and rural development, and Industries and supply chain management have redefined their portfolios very recently, aiming to coordinate the environmental conservation aspects of primary production areas while improving primary production and value addition with supply chain management systems to meet the local and global economical and commercial needs. Further to that these ministries are planning to coordinate with universities, technological institutions, vocational training institutions, and other research and development government and non-government organizations to get their feedback to improve the existing systems.
Hence, there is a need to showcasing existing drawbacks and bottlenecks in present supply chain management strategies practiced by the primary producers, middle man, retailers, and consumers in Sri Lanka and international systems with respect to the go green approaches in ecosystem management aspects.
